Cost of Living

Understanding the costs which can be incurred while studying is an important part of planning your budget.

Melbourne is known to offer a high standard of living for its residents. How much does it cost and how can you budget to make the most of your time studying in Australia?

Accommodation, food, bills, clothing and leisure as a student can quickly add up.

You’ll need to consider the addition cost of living in Melbourne, on top of your tuition fees.

As a reference, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIAC) suggests that an international student would need for cover living expenses, excluding tuition fees. recommended 12-month living cost for a single student is estimated at AUD$21,041.

There are financial requirements you must meet to receive a student visa for Australia and you may need to provide evidence of your ability to cover living costs. See the Department of Home Affairs website for more information.
